 The JUMO IMAGO 500 multi-channel
process and profile controller is typically used in applications
such as industrial furnaces, the plastics industry,
climate-controlled chambers, environmental simulation, heating and
test chambers, industrial plant construction, and the food
processing industry.
The JUMO IMAGO 500 offers simple and
intuitive operation through the six instrument keys. Easy-to-see
presentation of pictures, symbols, texts and colors support the
operator prompting. The display can be modified to include company
logos and process-specific images. The controller comes in a modular
92 mm x92 mm housing with eleven slots for the process inputs and
outputs and can be easily retrofitted. Since it includes two
separate interfaces, the controller can transmit configuration
parameters or program data and—at the same time—communicate with
visualization software. This also means that it is possible to
operate an external relay module, use the integrated modem function
or exchange process data with a PLC via the PROFIBUS-DP interface.
All the usual controller types and
structures are stored in the controller module. Four independent
controllers with eight parameter sets can be managed by the
controller, allowing complex control tasks such as cascade control.
With a cycle time of 50 milliseconds, the instrument is suitable for
fast control processes such as pressure control. Eight math and
logic modules permit the integration of analog or digital values
into mathematical or logic formulae that are available for various
functions such as ratio/difference or humidity control.
Four profiles with 50 programs and a
total of 1000 segments are available when the instrument is
programmed as a profile controller. For each segment, there are
eight control tracks that enable the switching of additional control
devices, such as valves, vents, contactors, etc. Functions such as
cycle programming, tolerance monitoring and parameter set selection
are also found in the IMAGO 500.
For process control or operation, the
instrument features 16 limit comparators (alarms) with eight
different functions allowing for free definition of the monitored
variables. Additional features include switch-on/switch-off delay,
pulse function or latching, a recording function, graphical program
display and an event list. In addition to the pre-defined screen
templates, it is also possible to create a custom screen layout in
the setup program that matches specific needs and is individually
adapted to the particular type of plant.
