Technical Sales Consultant

JUMO Process Control, Inc., wholly owned subsidiary of JUMO GmbH & Co. KG, a leading manufacturer in the field of industrial sensor and automation technology is in search of a Technical Sales Consultant. JUMO always aims to provide our customers with the optimal solution for process reliability, energy efficiency and cost optimization. Our innovative product range includes the entire measuring chain from sensors to automation solutions for temperature, pressure, liquid analysis, flow rate, filling level, and humidity.

As a Technical Sales Consultant you will be responsible for proactively expanding the JUMO brand within existing customers base and with new prospect in your assigned sales territory. JUMO’s direct-sales professionals provide consultative, solution-based sales to customer with onsite visits as well as remote customer maintenance and follow up activities. You will be challenged to develop thorough understanding of your assigned territory, existing customers and industries as well as JUMO product offering and solutions.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage existing customers and generation of new accounts through prospecting, lead generation, follow up and collaboration with sales office team to exceed annual sales goals.
  • Work closely with customer to understand their business operations and applications and provide a JUMO solution emphasizing product feature based on application requirements.
  • Regular customer site visit to provide sales presentation, product introduction and product demonstration as needed. 
  • Effective territory management using CRM system.
  • Participate at conferences and exhibitions as required.
  • Support the development of marketing communications within assigned territory and for your customers.
  • Travel within assigned territory (50-60%) as well as other possible periodic domestic and international travels for meeting and training as required.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • BS Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical) or equivalent work experience. 
  • Technical sales experience or strong understanding of sales and service processes.
  • Willingness to travel 50-60% of the time within assigned territory, including overnight travel.
  • Periodic travel to Syracuse, NY required as well as occasional overseas travel as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs.
  • Position requires the use of a personal vehicle (registered and insurance).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license at all times.
